Mr. Gunit Chadha, 45, is CEO
of Deutsche Bank Group in India and a member of Deutsche Bank's
Asia Pacific Executive `Committee. Mr. Chadha brings extensive knowledge
of and deep relationships with the Indian industry, and has an empowered
mandate to grow all of Deutsche Bank's businesses in India across
Global Markets - Debt & Equity, Investment Banking - ECM &
M&A, Transaction Banking, Retail Banking , Asset & Wealth
Management, and Outsourcing.
Mr. Chadha has 22 years of extensive Retail, Corporate and Investment Banking experience from both USA and India. Previously, between 2000-2003, he was the CEO of IDBI Bank, a pan-India retail and corporate bank, and was voted as 'The Banker of the Year-2001' by Business Standard.
Prior to joining IDBI Bank, Mr. Chadha was with Citicorp Securities Inc, New York (1997-2000) in Structured Finance and earlier as Country Head-Investment Banking for Citigroup, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh (1994-97). Mr. Chadha has held senior positions in various industry forums - Board of Directors of Association of Merchant Bankers of India (1994-1996), Managing Committee of Indian Bankers Association (2003-2005) Reserve Bank of India's Technical Advisory Committee on (i) Money, Foreign Exchange & Government Securities Markets (2004-2006) and (ii) Financial Regulations (2006 onwards).
He has an Economics (Hons) degree from St. Stephen's College, Delhi; an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad and an Advanced Management Program from the Wharton School, USA (1997).
Mr. Chadha is married
to Rano and has two children. In his spare time he enjoys building
social friendships, sports, travelling and is actively involved with
not-for-profit organizations.
