CNO: Chief Networking Officer
CMO: Chief Marketing Officer
CSO: Chief Sponsorship Officer
CPO: Chief Publicity Officer
COO: Chief Operating Officer
CFO: Chief Financial Officer
CTO: Chief Technology Officer
Chief Networking Officer(s): The CNO will manage the process of speaker identification, outreach, communication, on-boarding and event related logistics (in partnership with the COO). CNO should work towards a goal of attracting world class speakers, across geographies and disciplines, each of whom has a passion and vision for the economic and social development of India . The CNO must ensure a strong synergy between the speakers, panels and encompassing theme of WIEF 2006. The CNO is integral to the success and memory of WIEF 2006.
Chief Marketing Officer(s): The CMO will be responsible for coordinating all marketing activities for WIEF 2006. Responsibilities include preparing all marketing materials from design to print, and reaching out to on-campus, off-campus, corporate, government, educational and non profit organizations. The ultimate goal of the CMO is to ensure a minimum paid attendance of at least 650 attendees, across students, faculty and professionals. The CMO will also be responsible to market the ‘Gala Dinner' (TBD). This is a very high visibility role and requires close coordination with the Speaker, Media Relations and Sponsorship teams.
Chief Sponsorship Officer(s): The CSO will be responsible for generating all sponsorship revenues to run WIEF 2006 and create an overflow to be allocated to the future WIEF's. Early on, the CSO will work closely with the Marketing and Speakers Committee to develop an effective strategy for soliciting corporate funds/support. The CSO will then need to implement this strategy and will be held accountable for meeting specific fundraising goals throughout the summer and fall. Our goal for WIEF 2006 is to attract value added sponsorship through individuals, corporations and organizations that share the vision and objectives of WIEF.
Chief Publicity Officer(s): The CPO will be responsible for all public and media relations. The role will come into effect immediately and carry through until the handover to the CPO of WIEF 2007. The CPO will work closely with internal Wharton/U-Penn constituents, e.g. Wharton Journal, Program Offices, Faculty and Staff, Student Clubs, WGA and external media channels, i.e. print, radio, television, text messaging and the internet. The CPO will manage an exciting initiative in partnership with Knowledge@Wharton to promote WIEF 2006 via a series of articles, interviews and discussions in the Indian edition of Knowledge@Wharton. The goal of the CPO is to ensure a blizzard of positive, global value added publicity over the next 12 months. The CPO will work closely with the Marketing, Speaker and Sponsorship teams.
Chief Operating Officer(s): The COO will be responsible for all logistical planning for WIEF 2006. The COO and their team will manage all the processes related to securing a location for the venue, food and beverage planning, accommodation and travel scheduling, internal Wharton logistics, ‘Gala Dinner' logistics and communications logistics (i.e. Audio, Visual). The COO is integral to the success of a world class, unprecedented WIEF 2006.
Chief Financial Officer : The CFO will be responsible for managing the overall finances of the conference which include processing revenues and expenses. Early on, the CFO will take charge of the finances from last year's conference Treasurer and will start building a pool of funds for this year's conference. This role requires close co-ordination with the WGA, the CMO and the CSO early on and with the COO in the months leading up to the conference.
Chief Technology Officer : The CTO will be responsible for managing and meeting all the technology needs of the conference. This year's conference will be relying heavily on the forum website to communicate with internal and external participants. WebCafé will be used to reach out and facilitate communications and information sharing amongst the Wharton conference members. The CTO will lead the podcast and the webcast of the 2006 conference to education institutes in India and the timely broadcast of conference progress to stakeholders.
