Since the first edition in 1995, the Wharton European Business Conference has enjoyed tremendous success and growth. In just nine years, the conference has more than doubled in size and brings together various private and public sector leaders, as well as renowned academics covering a range of disciplines. Past keynote speakers include Nobel Prize winner Lawrence Klein, Angel Corcostegui (CEO of Banco Santander), Condoleezza Rice (National Security Adviser), Anshu Jain (Head of Global Markets, Deutsche Bank), and Jean-Francois Rischard (VP of Europe, World Bank).
The Wharton European Business Conference is part of the annual Wharton Global Business Forum. Along with the Asian, African, Indian, and Latin American conferences, this forum attracts over 1,500 participants and has traditionally been the largest event organized by students at The Wharton School. Currently, the following keynote speakers are confirmed: Mr. Pratini de Moraes (ABN Amro supervisory board member and 4-times minister in Brazil), Mr. Alain Belda (CEO Alcoa), Mr. Felipe Calderon Hinojsh (former secretary of Energy in Mexico and declared candidate for the Presidential race in 2005), Mr. Adebayo Ogunlesi (Global Head Investment Banking, Credit Suisse First Boston) etc.
