The Wharton School cordially invites you to participate as a corporate sponsor for the 9th annual Wharton Asia Business Conference (WABC), which will be held on November 20th, 2004, in Philadelphia. We hope that you will join us in partnership as we organize a conference of immense value to the Asian business community.

The WABC has established itself as an important forum for scholars, business leaders and policy makers to gather and exchange ideas about one of the most dynamic economic regions of the world. It strives to provide comprehensive coverage on issues of seminal importance to the operating environment of businesses in Asia – the development of capital markets, corporate governance reforms, consumer trends, and others. The 2003 conference, entitled “Exploring Frontiers: Confronting Challenges and Breaking New Ground," highlighted Asia's spectacular potential for growth and the means for leveraging that potential. The event was very successful, attracting roughly 400 scholars and executives internationally, with over 15 prominent business leaders participating on 5 speaker panels. Key speakers included:

  • Dr. Irwin Mark Jacobs
    CEO, Qualcomm
  • Raj Gupta
    CEO, Rohm & Haas
  • Masamoto Yashiro
    CEO, Shinsei Bank
  • Takeshi Natsuno
Managing Director, I-mode strategy, NTT DoCoMo Japan

We plan to make this year’s event as exciting. In addition, this year’s conference will cover not only a broad range of industries such as banking, private equity, and media & entertainment, but also topical issues such as regionalism and China’s growing role in the global market.

The WABC provides an excellent platform for enhancing your presence within the Asian business community, as well as the Wharton community. The prominence of our sponsors in WABC press releases and publicity materials, in association with events such as the Sponsors Networking Dinner, ensure valuable exposure to other corporate participants. Through events such as the Keynote Luncheon and the WABC Career Fair, our sponsors have had the opportunity to interact with a diverse and talented pool of aspiring business leaders at the Wharton School, which has been consistently ranked #1 in the world by The Financial Times of London and World Executive Digest, and top 3 by US World & News. Moreover, should you be interested in contacting members of the student body, we provide resume book hosting services.

We offer Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Friend/In-Kind sponsorship levels. To find out about how you can support WABC 2004 and for more details on the four levels of sponsorship, please contact our VP Sponsorship, Takeshi Kamiya (tkamiya@wharton.upenn.edu).
