Ms. Marsha D. Wulff,
Founder & Principal, Wulff Capital
Marsha D. Wulff, founder &
principal of Wulff Capital, is a venture investor, focusing on medical
technology innovations, with a special emphasis on projects that
enhance economic development in South Africa. Ms Wulff has over twenty
years of experience in investment analysis and portfolio management.
Prior roles include that of independent entrepreneur (1970’s), VP of
Investments with Dean Witter (1980’s) and Director of Corporate
Communications at Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD:NYSE) (1990’s), which
went public in 1993. The latter involved managing rapid growth,
employee relations, public relations, strategic reorganizations,
mergers, acquisitions and taking the company public. She served as
Finance Chair and Board Vice Chair of Memorial Hospital and Medical
Centers ( Midland, Texas), (1990-1997), where she had budget and CAPEX
expenditure responsibilities for $200 million/yr in revenues. She
served as a Director for the Private Industry Council in California
(1985-86), and taught investment strategies at College of the Redwoods
(1984-85).
Ms Wulff has lived and worked internationally in
Taiwan, Germany, Australia, Argentina and South Africa, developing a
comfort level with cross-cultural business and a preference for
assisting enterprise development in emerging economies.
Active in South Africa since 1997 and inspired by World Bank Managing
Director Dr Mamphela Ramphele, Ms. Wulff has built a strong network of
deal-flow sources and venture associates who mentor and monitor
entrepreneurs. These include law firms, enterprise assistance centers,
business incubators and graduate schools of business. She spoke at the
World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002 and
co-founded the
South
Africa Business Club in 2003.
Ms. Wulff earned her Executive MBA in 2001 from Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
