Mr. Fabrice Sawegnon
CEO, Vodoo Communications
Born on January 18th 1972 in Abidjan, Fabrice SAWEGNON graduated from Institut National Superieur de l'Enseignement Technique de Yamoussoukro in 1994. Soon after, he started working with Metalivoire/Jal Afrique (Roofing sheet and Paints) as a Brand Manager thereby becoming part of the first Ivorians to handle such position.
He came into the advertising circle when he joined Panafcom Young & Rubicam, an advertising Agency. He managed different accounts, including Nissan, and was Group Manager for two years.
His local experience became regional when he joined the competitor McCann-Erickson as Account Director for the Coca-Cola and Sprite account for 21 countries in West and East Africa (from Mauritania to Gabon).
The desire to implement a strategic response and a graphic territory specific to African cultures, led him in collaboration with some African partners to create his own agency. On June17th 1999, Voodoo was born.
Young blood, African vibration, international expertise. This is the credo of this new generation agency. 5 years later, Voodoo Communication, is the No 1 advertising agency in West Africa. It manages the portfolio of many national and international groups such as France Telecom (Orange and Cote d'Ivoire Telecom), Unilever, British American Tobacco
In 2002, the campaign for the re-branding of the Orange Brand in Africa (Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon) gave him the opportunity of being the first African agency to be awarded the "Mondial d'or Campagne multimedia, mondial de la publicité francophone, Beyrouth, November 2002". An out-African category competition.
Today, the Agency works with over a hundred collaborators spread over the branches in Cotonou (Benin), Douala (Cameroon), Libreville (Gabon), Dakar (Senegal in construction) and the Head Office in Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire). Fabrice, ignited with passion for entertainment industry, just launched in Cote d'Ivoire a specialized agency (Event, artistic and television production) in order to offer Consumers and Announcer new medium of communication and exchange of experience.
Fabrice is married to Laurence and they have two sons: Gill Akeem and
Jahlen.
