Mr.
Pitroda is the Chairman of WorldTel Ltd. which is a
UK-based private equity fund dedicated to developing telecom
infrastructure in emerging markets. He has an experience of over
33 years in the telecom industry and was the first Chairman of
Telecom Commission for Government of India under Prime Minister
Rajiv Gandhi. He has been the head of Rockwell Telecom and Vice
President of Rockwell International. Mr. Pitroda is widely
credited with inventing digital switching technology (first to
combine microprocessors with legacy switching systems). He is
the founder of several successful technology-based companies and
is the owner of more than 50 patents. He has been a frequent
speaker at industry-related conferences and events.
