Bhargava,
Managing Director & CEO, Progeon
Akshaya Bhargava was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive
Officer of Progeon in November 2002.
Prior to assuming his current
position, he held the post of Global Product Management Head
for Citibank's Emerging Local Corporate business that covered
18 countries from Latin America to Eastern Europe to Asia. His
career with Citibank spans over 22 years and covers jobs in
Operations, Relationship Management, Product Management and
General Management. His past roles with Citibank include
Country Manager for Czech Republic and Regional Business Head
for Transaction Services for CEEMEA region (Central Eastern
Europe, Middle East and Africa). He was instrumental in
establishing Citibank's first outsourced operations unit in
India in 1991-92 which has now evolved into Citibank's captive
Indian outsourcing company - "e-serve".
In addition to this, Mr.
Bhargava has considerable first hand experience of managing
processes offshoring from a number of locations into India and
starting up new business segments using India as a complete
end to end back office unit.
Mr. Bhargava is an alumnus of
Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (1980) and Fergusson
College, Poona.
