SAM K. NKUSI, P.Eng

MINISTER OF STATE FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IN CHARGE OF ENERGY AND COMMUNICATIONS

Sam Nkusi is presently a Minister of State for Infrastructure in charge of Energy and Communications. He is a professional Engineer with 20 years experience in the Telecoms Industry.

He completed his Graduate Studies in Electrical Engineering in Canada where he worked for leading telecom companies in Canada until 1994 when he returned to his native Rwanda. He has played a vigorous and active role in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of post genocide Rwanda. He was the Director General of Rwandatel, the national fixed telephone network, Founder member of MTN RwandaCell, the GSM mobile telephone operator. He was also the Director of the Board of MTN Rwandacell, MTN Uganda, Electrogas and other companies in Rwanda. Before his appointment as a cabinet minister he was the Managing Director of Electrogas, the national Electricity and Water services provider.
