Mustapha
Njie (commonly known as TAF) was born in the West African
State of The Gambia. With
a solid reputation for hard work and efficiency behind
him, which he has built over the years by working in senior
positions of reputable international firms he embarked
on a personal development programme by pursuing a Diploma
in Site Management Course in 1986. He was subsequently
admitted as a Licentiate Member of the British Chartered
Institute of Building in 1987.
Given
Mustapha’s business acumen and his rating at the time
within the private sector, particularly the construction
industry, he decided to take the bull by the horns by
setting up his own construction outfit, Taf Construction
Ltd – TCL which he owns and manages.
Taf
is considered as one of the most dynamic young Gambian
entrepreneurs today, and a shining example of the breed
of private sector entrepreneurs to lead his country into
the 21st century.
Over
time, Taf established a conglomerate of businesses with
a high degree of complimentarity and which now comprises
of Taf Construction Limited (TCL), Taf Building Materials
Supplies, Taf Estate Developers (TED) and Tafbel Maisonettes.
Taf
Estate Developers (TED) - while a younger establishment,
is involved in the construction and management of modern
housing estates. Recently,
it has embarked on a large scale housing development
project code-named ‘Operation House The Nation’.
Mr
Njie’s companies employ over 500 Gambians now and contribute
to the enhancement of civil society by donating to philanthropic
organizations, scholarships to the poor and deserving
students and to sports.
Mr.
Mustapha Njie is an active member of the West African
Enterprise Network (WAEN) and a founder member of the
Gambia chapter in 1993. WAEN
is a networking platform supported by USAID and Club
du Sahel for West African entrepreneurs. In the course
of his business career, he has bagged several awards
and distinctions such as European Commission Global
Business Award for Excellence and Quality (1998) and
The Gambia Chamber Of Commerce Businessman of The Year
(1992/93)
Mr.
Njie is a typical example of what sheer determination,
self – motivation, goodwill and self-confidence can create. He
is a true role model for many young Gambians with ambition
and aspirations to emulate. Mr.
Mustapha Njie is highly respected for his honesty, sincerity
and hardwork. He
is an example for the next generation of Gambian and
African Entrepreneurs.
