MUSTAPHA NJIE

Chairman & CEO, Taf Holding Company Ltd.

Mustapha Njie (commonly known as TAF) was born in the West African State of The Gambia.  With a solid reputation for hard work and efficiency behind him, which he has built over the years by working in senior positions of reputable international firms he embarked on a personal development programme by pursuing a Diploma in Site Management Course in 1986. He was subsequently admitted as a Licentiate Member of the British Chartered Institute of Building in 1987.

Given Mustapha’s business acumen and his rating at the time within the private sector, particularly the construction industry, he decided to take the bull by the horns by setting up his own construction outfit, Taf Construction Ltd – TCL which he owns and manages.

Taf is considered as one of the most dynamic young Gambian entrepreneurs today, and a shining example of the breed of private sector entrepreneurs to lead his country into the 21st century.

Over time, Taf established a conglomerate of businesses with a high degree of complimentarity and which now comprises of Taf Construction Limited (TCL), Taf Building Materials Supplies, Taf Estate Developers (TED) and Tafbel Maisonettes.

Taf Estate Developers (TED) - while a younger establishment, is involved in the construction and management of modern housing estates.  Recently, it has embarked on a large scale housing development project code-named ‘Operation House The Nation’.

Mr Njie’s companies employ over 500 Gambians now and contribute to the enhancement of civil society by donating to philanthropic organizations, scholarships to the poor and deserving students and to sports.

Mr. Mustapha Njie is an active member of the West African Enterprise Network (WAEN) and a founder member of the Gambia chapter in 1993.  WAEN is a networking platform supported by USAID and Club du Sahel for West African entrepreneurs. In the course of his business career, he has bagged several awards and distinctions such as European Commission Global Business Award for Excellence and Quality (1998) and The Gambia Chamber Of Commerce Businessman of The Year (1992/93)

Mr. Njie is a typical example of what sheer determination, self – motivation, goodwill and self-confidence can create.  He is a true role model for many young Gambians with ambition and aspirations to emulate.  Mr. Mustapha Njie is highly respected for his honesty, sincerity and hardwork.  He is an example for the next generation of Gambian and African Entrepreneurs.
