Arwin Rasyid
Mr. Arwin Rasyid is the Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency and the Vice President Commissioner of PT. Bank Universal Tbk. in Indonesia.
From 1980-1987, Mr. Rasyid was an Assistant Vice President at Bank of America, Jakarta, where he served as a corporate marketing officer in the Multinational Sector, Middle Market Group, Correspondent Banking Group and Problem Loan Group. Then he became the Marketing Division Head of PT. Bank Niaga Tbk, supervising the Corporate Commercial and Consumer Departments in the Gajah Mada Branch.
In 1990, Mr. Rasyid joined the PT. Niaga Factoring Corporation as a Managing Director to the joint venture between Bank Niaga and International Factors of Singapore. At the same time, he took on a more senior role in PT. Bank Niaga Tbk and became the Senior Vice President of the Corporate Banking Group where he was responsible for supervising the bank’s Corporate and Merchant Banking activities. In 1994-1998, Mr Rasyid served as the Corporate Banking Director, supervising the Los Angeles Agency, Niaga Finance Hongkong, Cayman Islands as well as the Corporate Banking Group, Merchant Banking and Credit Policy and Administration Group. From 1998-March 1999, he was the Vice President Director of PT. Bank Niaga Tbk, expanding his scope of responsibility to cover the Special Asset Management and Bank Recapitalization Program.
Mr. Rasyid was an Executive Committee Member of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency from May 1999 to Jan 2000, before he assumed the role of Vice Chairman. He also became the Vice President Commissioner of PT. Bank Universal Tbk in June 1999.
Mr. Rasyid was born in Rome, Italy. He studied economics at the University of Indonesia majoring in development studies. He received his MA in International Economics and MBA in International Business from the University of Hawaii, USA where he was a recipient of the Beta Sigma Award (1983). From 1977-1999, Mr. Rasyid was a lecturer at the University of Indonesia.
