Franklin Allen
Franklin Allen is the Nippon Life Professor of Finance and Economics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been on the faculty there since 1980. He was formerly Vice Dean and Director of Wharton Doctoral Programs and Executive Editor of the Review of Financial Studies, one of the leading academic finance journals. He is currently President of the American Finance Association. Recent professional awards received include

- Excellence in Teaching Award (Graduate Division), 1990, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000

- Undergraduate Division Excellence in Teaching Award, 1991
He received his doctorate from Oxford University. Dr. Allen's main areas of interest are corporate finance, asset pricing, financial innovation and comparing financial systems.
