Advisory Board


2008 Wharton Asia Business Conference Advisory Board

The advisory board members take up an advisory role to the entire conference committee and will assist the executive committee in overseeing the overall implementation of the entire conference. Their roles include, but are not limited to, reviewing the conference theme and potential panel topics for feedback and suggestions;, aiding in WABC marketing efforts, and participating in conference as speakers or moderators.

We will expand the board this year to include up to eight members from various backgrounds. The advisory board will work closely with the external affairs comprising of 8 Wharton Students to keep communication channels and open and effective. 

On behalf of 2008 Wharton Asia Business Conference Committee, the External Affairs committee is proud to introduce our current board members:

Franklin Allen

FRANKLIN ALLEN is the Nippon Life Professor of Finance and Professor of Economics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He has been on the faculty since 1980. He is currently Co-Director of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center.  He was formerly Vice Dean and Director of Wharton Doctoral Programs and Executive Editor of the Review of Financial Studies, one of the leading academic finance journals.  He served as the President of the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, the Society for Financial Studies, and the Financial Intermediation Research Society.  He received his doctorate from Oxford University.  Dr. Allen's main areas of interest are corporate finance, asset pricing, financial innovation, comparative financial systems, and financial crises.  He is a co-author with Richard Brealey and Stewart Myers of the eighth edition of the textbook Principles of Corporate Finance.

 

Yu-sheng zheng

YU-SHENG ZHENG is the Professor of Operations and Information Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Since 2002, he has been participating in the founding of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), the first and only independent business school in China, and now he is also a faculty member at CKGSB and serves as Associate Dean of the School. Dr. Zheng obtained his BS from Fudan University, China and PhD from Columbia University, New York. His research interests include inventory management, supply chain management, manufacturing operations, service operations and financial models.  Most of Dr. Zheng's research results have been published in world's leading academic journals. He has been an associate editor of Operations Research and Management Science for many years. He has provided consulting service to numerous multinational companies such as IBM, Teradyne Inc, Voice of Europe, Corporate Decisions Inc. and Vanguard Group. Dr. Zheng is a frequently invited speaker at major international academic and industrial conferences.

 

Robert Zou

ROBERT ZOU is the founder, president & CEO of Arrail Dental Group, which is one of the largest private dental groups in China. Prior to establishing Arrail Dental Group, Robert had more than 14 years working experiences with SmithKline Beecham, Bankers Trust and A.T.Kearney in China, the US and Hong Kong. Robert is a director of Chamber of Commerce of China’s Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA), and a director of Committee 2005 of WRSA Chamber of Commerce. Robert has a BA degree from Tianjin Foreign Language Institute and a MBA degree from The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.
