500+ people will attend the 15th annual Wharton Africa Business Forum to learn about the rapid transformation of Africa’s business and political environment, network and develop business relationships. In 15 years, the Wharton Africa Business Forum (WABF) has become the leading conference on Business in Africa at business schools. The 2007 edition features professionals, dignitaries and experts on investment, trade or development, many of whom are recognized across the globe for their entrepreneurial and leadership achievements. Keynote Speakers 2007 WABF keynote speakers will discuss their vision for Africa. These are successful global leaders in charge of multi billion dollars organizations with substantial investment in Africa. Because they all come from different regions in Africa, the diversity of their background and experience will provide a unique vantage point to understand the 53 countries continent of Africa which accounts for 20% of the world’s population. 15 Panels The 2007 WABF goes beyond the traditional private investment perspective of business in Africa to analyze the role of governments and other organizations whose actions have significant impact on the continent’s development. For the first time, corporate governance and security topics are introduced A Business Plan Competition The WABF Business Plan Competition is reintroduced to promote entrepreneurial initiatives in Africa. There is real value to leverage the relationships that Wharton has established – as the premier business school in the world – with the Investment Community and facilitate African entrepreneurs’ access to capital for new ventures, business expansion or trade development into new markets. A Career Fair The highly qualified students and professionals attending the WABF have been extended the opportunity to add their resume in the WABF Resume Database to be considered for job openings at sponsors and other participating recruiting organizations. Selected job seekers could meet recruiters on a one on one basis or at specific sponsor’s tables. |
