Presenting your idea to investment professionals Africa, the last frontier of Foreign Direct Investment is ripe for business ideas. It is a continent of many entrepreneurial opportunities and the WABF is an ideal platform for future entrepreneurs with prospective African ventures to present their ideas to participating financing institutions that already invest in Africa. Pre-selected applicants will have the unique opportunity to pitch their business idea to participating Banks, Venture Capitals, and Private Equity firms. The Business Pitch contest is a proven method used by the Wharton Entrepreneurial Program – in its Venture Initiation Program – to identify future business talents. Pitching is an important technique entrepreneurs must acquire to quickly impress VC and PE of the real world and effectively raise the capital needed for the development of their venture.PROCEDURE 1. 3. Pay $20 application fee online no later than October 27 2007
4. Admission released no later than November 3 2007 at 11:59pm
5. Selected applicants pitch business idea for 5 minutes to a group of investors in a public setting
6. Selected applicants pitch business idea for 5 minutes to a group of VC and PE firms in a public setting
7. Feedbacks and follow ups provided to applicants at the Pitch contest
8. Results and prize winners announced at the WABF banquet reception
